What's the funniest thing your child has ever done or said?
My 2-year-old gives impromptu singing performances from her “stage” – a flipped over laundry basket. Recently, when she treated us to “Head Shoulders Knees and Toes,” the words were perfect, but she pointed to the wrong body part every time. As she sang “eyes and ears and mouth and nose” she was touching her chin and tummy and feet. And then she ended her verse with one last resounding “Mouth!!!!” Comedy gold.
What always makes you laugh?
Watching Bill Hader crack himself up as Stefon on Saturday Night Live. Just when I thought nothing could replace Debbie Downer in my heart.
What's the funniest gift you've ever received?
My brother, with whom I share a brain, gave me the Mr. T Talking Keychain. I never got tired of using it tell people to “Quit your jibber jabber!” When in doubt, let Mr. T do the talking for you.

Why is the stay-at-home vs. working moms debate so passionate?
Hardened criminals don't feel nearly as guilty and conflicted as mothers. It's just a permanent state of being. Working moms may love their careers (and their incomes) but still feel guilty about time spent away from their kids and missing some of those magic moments. Stay-at-home moms believe in their choice but may secretly feel stir crazy, under-stimulated and bored. So how do moms cope with all these uncomfortable feelings? By convincing themselves that their way of doing it is the best way. The right way. The only way!

What's your kids' favorite backyard game?
My daughter's only 15 months, so her favorite backyard game is "Let's taste stuff that's not food." She likes to sample the grass, sand, leaves, sticks...really whatever she can get her hands on before mommy takes it away. If you told me I could count grass as a vegetable, I'd say my girl was getting a very nutritious diet.

What are the best ways to keep kids entertained & well-behaved at a formal event or luncheon such as wedding?
Keep kids occupied at a wedding by giving them jobs. There's no reason little ones can't be ushers, pass out favors, or provide entertainment while the DJ is on break. Better yet, loan them out to the singles table as dance partners.
My fiance and I are currently planning our wedding and we have already assigned our daughter a very special job: flower girl. Hopefully that long walk down the aisle will wear her out and she'll just nap adorably for the rest of the wedding.

Can you recommend a great summer snack to feed kids on break or to pack for days at camp? (Please include a link to the recipe.)
Cold pasta salad is a yummy way to combine kid favorites like spiral macaroni and cubes of hard cheese with healthy vegetables like chopped red bell pepper and peas. No need for a recipe - just choose what you like and toss with a vinaigrette. But moms, be careful if you're watching carbs--it is way too easy to scarf the leftovers right out of the bowl while your kid's at camp.

Cabbage Patch Kids, the Bionic Woman, Lite-Brite...what toy from your childhood are you most nostalgic about? Please include a link if you can find one.
I was obsessed with the Play-Doh Fuzzy Pumper Barber Set because you could "grow" hair, cut it off and then start all over again. In contrast, when I chopped my Barbie dolls' hair, it never grew back, and that was very disappointing--plus all my Barbies looked like Mia Farrow in Rosemary's Baby.

What's the craziest or funniest thing you felt driven to do while pregnant and nesting? (If there's an image that goes along with your story, please share the link with us!)
When I was 9 months pregnant and huge, my fiance was gripped with the need to clean out our bathroom cabinets, even though it meant me squatting awkwardly on the tile floor for way too long. The baby came the very next day. Perhaps it was the squatting.
