Where do you discover new kid-friendly crafts?

Mostly we make them up - that's what we do after all! When we are finding ourselves lacking inspiration, we'll toodle around Pinterest to see if anything inspires us there, visit some favorite creative blogs, or take a peek on instagram.

What's one creative product you would recommend to all moms?

Aside from our magazine... The one creative product - which isn't really a product at all - that we'd recommend is time. Find a way to carve out 10-15 minutes a day to nurture your own creativity and that of your children. Everyone can find 10-15 minutes and that's really all it takes!

How do you encourage your child to explore their creativity?

Mostly we encourage our children to explore their own creativity by providing them with the tools, space and time to do so. We make sure our days our arranged such that the children have enough free time to pursue their own ideas and projects. We make sure that creative tools - crayons, markers, scissors, glue, paint - are available to them. We also make sure that they have a creative space that is there's to start projects, leave them in progress, and return to them later.

What's your kids' favorite homemade popsicle or frozen treat?

Andrea & Danielle

Our favorite is Chocolate-Peanut Butter frozen pops. The kids love them because we let them have chocolate in the morning. We love them because, though they contain cocoa powder, they are sugar free! The natural sweetness comes from bananas (and a touch of honey, if you'd like.) OK, ok, we also like them because we can eat them guilt-free as well - yum. You can check out our full downloadable recipe, plus easy ways to connect with your child as you whip up a batch (or three) together!

For car and plane trips, what are some small toys, games, or other fun tiny surprises to bring along or pack in your child's backpack? Please mention the age range for the item and include a link to a picture if you have one.

Keep little hands busy with pipe cleaner beading or endless embroidery. Keep little minds busy with audio books (we really love Ox Cart Man). Finally, a felt board is always welcome to help pass the travel time (we've included a felt board piece printable in the link below - enjoy!)

Can you suggest a fun craft to do with kids that uses things found in nature like pine cones, leaves, flowers, or sticks?

Andrea & Danielle

We love reading "Daniel and his Walking Stick" by Wendy McCormick before setting out to gather and then create a walking stick of our own. We still have - and add to - the one we created last summer.
