What are your favorite products that you've seen this year that would make great stocking stuffers?
I have seen so many great stocking stuffers this holiday season that is hard to pick some! Some of the stocking stuffers that will be passed out in our house this year are:
For The Girls:
Nail Polish and Make- up,
$5.00 Gift Cards
Pens and little journals
Warm Socks and Leggings
Personal Care Items ( Body Wash, Lotion, Shampoo, etc, travel size of course)
For the Adults:
Gift Cards
Body Care Items
Mini Calendar or small desk calendar
Scarves and Mittens.
Another awesome trend I have seen this year are DIY stocking stuffers. The popularity of Pinterest has really upped the game for DIY. Some neat ones I have seen so far are:
For Ladies:
Bottle cap Magnets for the Fridge. They are so easy to do! Print out special photos, use a circle cutter to cut them out, glue the picture inside the bottle cap and glaze with a sealer. Such a cute gift for a new Mom, Grandma, or new couple!
Handmade Cookbook
Lacey Votive Candles ( Just hot glue lace on to those cute little clear votive candle holders)
Handmade soaps
For Men:
Handmade ornament using their favorite team logo! ( good for boys too)
Pillowcases using fabric with their favorite team or maybe super hero
DIY coupon book letting them out of a chore
Homemade chocolate covered bacon
For Girls/Boys
Homemade Glitter for projects, etc.
Homemade treats such as candy, cookies, or trail mix
For girls, crocheted scrunchies, or cute fabric headbands
Knitted Mittens and Scarves
Hot Cocoa kits for those chilly days of playing outside.
What's your favorite resource for discovering new products?
The Internet. Yes, I do use Pitch companies, Google Trends, and I am signed up for a ton of newsletters but my favorite is just surfing the internet. By the evening time I am tired. I have been blogging all day, social networking, e-mailing, and all of this on top of working and not to mention being a Mom. So in the evening when everything settles down I surf the internet using key words. I find a lot of smaller places that way. It is relaxing and not only do I find great new products but I find lots of other things. Dishin' is pretty diverse because I review a lot of different things, but if I had to choose a niche I would say I am a food blog. You would not believe the places I have found just surfing the internet. Also, food is one of the hardest things to pitch for. It takes a lot of surfing and researching to find products my readers will want to read about and possibly buy.
Another favorite resource is Stumble Upon. I love that place and I know there are a lot of bloggers that don't. I have found a lot of great things on there and is how I found some of my most popular reviews.
Another great resource, maybe not a favorite, is Blogger Link Up. It is published 3 times a week and sometimes they have some odd and different items to review. It also has some great opportunities for guest posts. They are not paid guest posts but some of the blogs looking for them have a high PR and it is worth it for the links.
Whats the best parenting product you've ever reviewed?
I guess this is where I am supposed to put a wonderful product that would be good for your kids or make you a better parent. However, that is not what I am going to put here, even though I have reviewed some great products for that. As Moms we forget ourselves so much. Even though most of us understand that in order to be a good Mom we need to take time out for ourselves. We don't though because there is always something that needs to be done. The best review I have done for parenting is the My Dream Sample Box. Every month you get amazing products from home businesses and you know what? It forces you to take a time out. Everything is so detailed that you will want to sit down, look at all the yummy samples, and read about the wonderful women that have taken the time to put this together for you. Then, as if that is not enough, you will want to take that long bath you have been putting off for months. Why? So you can try that new hand milled soap, or delicious scented bubble bath. Anything that makes me a better Mom is a-okay in my book! Being relaxed, rejuvenated, and at peace with myself does that! I highly recommend it for you or a special woman in your life. They will love it and if she is a Mom, you will be her favorite person!

What are your best tips for Black Friday shopping? (Please include a link if it's relevant.)
Sometimes you can get better deals after Black Friday. Last year my daughter wanted a lot of stuff from Hot Topic and black friday they were having a 50% off sale. The site was so jammed I couldn't even get on and I was upset because I thought I missed the biggest sale of the season. Two weeks later they had a buy one get one free sale and I scored huge, plus got it in time for Christmas. I also had Hot Topic points to spend. I am not saying it happens all the time but sometimes if you wait things get cheaper !

What's your family's favorite Thanksgiving treat? Please link to your recipe.
I have a new favorite. First I must admit I am not a pumpkin fan. I just really don't like the taste and normally will not try recipes that have it. Then my Mom made Pumpkin Spice Mousse which is on the Jello box. Oh my! It was pumpkin heaven on a spoon. I have never tasted pumpkin quite like that and it was good. I already asked her to make it for Thanksgiving :)

What's your favorite recipe for feeding lunch to a holiday crowd? Please include a link to an image and recipe!
My Mom makes her company corn to go with sandwiches. In the summer time we always eat Potato Salad or Macaroni salad with sandwiches. However in the winter you are wanting something warm, so my Mom makes this dish called company corn. It is so good and a little rich. It serves about 8 people, so there is plenty to go around and it tastes great with Ham and Cheese on a kaiser roll.
She also fixes it when we have dinners and everyone loves it!
