Life is full of surprises, twists and turns. The hubby and I have recently learned to trust God in new ways as we were caught off guard April 2011 with the news that our baby was actually TRIPLETS! Join us on our journey - parenting with lots of...

Jennifer is a winner of Top 25 Moms of Multiples - 2013

Between getting kids dressed, fed and out the door on time mornings can be hectic! What tips do you have for making morning routines easier?

Well, I am very grateful and feel blessed to be able to stay at home with the trio! But the mornings we do have to get out the door...it's all hands on deck! Outfits have been laid out the night before, the diaper bag is packed and we have a routine. My husband knows what he is responsible for and jumps right in. I would encourage moms to talk through everything with hubbys - what works? What doesn't? What can wait till later and what needs to be done now? If you both have clear expectations of what should be done, things will go more smoothly. And if you have as much as possible ready the night before, the work is half done!

People often say twins and other multiples have an extra special bond. Has there ever been a time when you noticed an especially unique connection?

Definitely! Our trio is now 19 months old and one of their favorite things to do is hug and kiss one another and to walk around holding hands! It melts my heart! Of course there's the normal sibling rivalry which is often exacerbated in that they are all three on the same level when it comes to understanding rules and consequences. Their attention spans are all equally short, as are their memories! Ha!

But they laugh sososo hard at one another, tickle each other, etc. They can hear one crying from the other side of the house and seem so concerned! It's really sweet!

My husband is an ID twin and was always told he and his brother had their own language they used to babble away with each other. I'm curious to see if our trio will develop this or if we've passed this stage with the massive amounts of words and signs they use. We'll see!

What are your tips for celebrating joint birthday parties?

Well, we've had one joint birthday party and are looking forward to their second birthday in a few months. :o) For their first birthday, we had a huge birthday bash and each one got a smash cake that they tore into at the same time. We sang "Happy Birthday" once but said all three of their names.

I figure we've got a couple years before the jealousy and frustration from not getting their own day will set in...but that will be another opportunity to parent through sibling rivalry! =)
