What's your favorite beach for families in SoCal?

We love SoCal beaches because many have a lot more to offer besides a nice place to catch a wave. We're huge fans of Leo Carrillo in Malibu. It offers up a family-friendly blend of beach fun – think tide pools, coastal caves, views to die for and water exploring galore – with campgrounds and hiking trails to boot.

What's an affordable and fun family activity?

Almost anything that involves getting outside and into nature! At the moment, we love going on bike rides - either to and from the beach, around our neighborhood or at a local park. Sometimes we bring along a picnic - making for a nearly free few hours of family fun.

What's your kids' favorite backyard game?

Oh this is so embarrassing ... my two boys are obsessed with a game they created themselves which they call "bashing." The goal? To see how many things you can "bash" while on a ride-on toy. (You know, like walls, garage doors, other backyard toys, etc.) Bonus points if you can bash another person on a ride-on toy.
