What's the best part of raising a family in NorCal?
One of the reasons I love living in San Francisco is the culture. I grew up in a small town, and didn't have as many opportunities as my children have. On any given day we can go to the zoo, museums, libraries and endless play dates. We are never board around here.
What's the biggest misconception about living in NorCal?
Although it is expensive to live in the city, there are so many things to do here that are free or very low cost. I think people assume you have to spend a lot of money to live here. It's simply not true. We take advantage of the "Neighborhood Free Days" for many of the planned events and museums around town. Plus, many of the neighborhoods host their own free events. The city also has many festivals that are free to the public. You just have to spend a little time and research what events are happening around the bay.
What do your kids love most about living in NorCal?
Living in San Francisco, we typically travel around the bay chasing the sun, especially during the summer months. Our children love going on family bike rides in different locations. We've lived in several Bay Area locations, so it's fun to meet up with their friends. The beauty about NorCal, you can go an hour in each direction and have a different experience. This is what my girls love, trying new things.

I have two girls ages 14 months and 4.5 years. We love the books by Karen Katz. They are easy to read and understand. My husband read "Daddy Hugs" to Emma and is currently reading it to Addie. We've also been reading "Daddy and Me" and "Counting Kisses" as well. Such basic books but a pleasure to read with the little ones. http://www.amazon.com/Daddy-Hugs-Classic-Board-Book/dp/1416941207/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1369620290&sr=8-1&keywords=dad+and+daughter+books

Nothing says Summer to me like a peach pie. I've actually been using Paula Deans Peach Pie recipe for years. It turns out great every time. I don't have a lot of time, this is quick and easy. http://www.pauladeen.com/article_view/summer_peach_pie_all_winter_long/
