Honest Mommy

A 'no-holds bar' blog about getting through mommyhood from one crazy mom to the next. I talk about the ins and outs of raising 4 kiddies and a hubby while technically a 'stay at home' mom.

In what ways is New York unique from other places you've lived or traveled?

I've never really lived anywhere outside of New York (except when I was a really little girl) so I don't have a big comparison. I love living in NY. I have visited my relatives in several locations across the country and I don't think I could ever leave here. Well, at least not until I retire and want to stay in the warmth year round:)

What's the best part of raising kids in New York?

I love the change of 4 seasons, being so close to a major city (about an hour away from NYC) but also far enough away to enjoy the quiet life!! My kids get to enjoy fresh vegetables from local farmers, apple picking in the fall, a trip to the city for a day to see a museum, a nice small cozy school, and lots and lots of fresh air playing in our yard!!

What's the biggest misconception about living in New York?

The biggest misconception I always get when I say I live in New York is 'what part of the city do you live it'. I think people forget how big New York actually is and always assume if you're from NY, you live in NYC!! Even though I only live a mere 50 miles from city, I always say I live in Upstate NY.

What's one of the worst messes your child has made? Please share a link to a photo if you have one.

Honest Mommy

The worst mess my baby and toddler made was when they figured out how to open the cinnamon. I was in the middle of baking lots and lots of cookies and figured it would be easier to let the baby play with the container so she would leave me alone. She definitely didn't figure out how to open it on her own... helps to have a 'big' brother to figure those things out... They sure did have fun with it though:) Check out all the pics on my blog post about it...
