How do you encourage your children to help keep the house organized?
We always chat about the importance of working together and the importance of organizing. I be sure to frequently remind my kiddos that by working together, we get to play together. They are able to earn small treasures when they go above and beyond or do helpful tasks without being asked. We believe in celebrating positive behaviors.
What advice do you have for moms trying to manage their home more effectively?
Be open with the kids and let them be involved in selecting their personal systems. I always try and let my kids know the "why" behind changes or new systems we put in place. And if the systems impact them directly, I ask them before even getting started, for their ideas and what they would like to see happen.
Also, we try and keep chore time fun. We schedule time each day to do our chores together. Any time we create a chore chart or schedule, I keep them playful, colorful and fun for the kids, so they don't look at the tasks as a negative.
What's the biggest challenge when keeping a home organized?
Trying to cater to everyone's personal organizing style. We have a family of five, and what works for one member, may not work for the others. So, we try to evaluate and create systems that work for everyone, and try to find ways to keep us all motivated and excited at the same time.
Also, our lives are always changing which means our systems always need to be evolving, so it's important to try and prepare and plan ahead. But I always love a good challenge!!

What's a great cleaning product you've discovered?
I love the gritty Method le scrub cleaner paired with a grout brush. Together they can handle even the dirtiest jobs and grout lines. That and microfiber sponges. I can't imagine my life before them and I love how versatile they are and that they can be tossed in the wash to be used over and over again.
