How do you make shopping for your family's clothes affordable?

Sarah and Erin

For basics, I head to low cost stores like H&M and GAP. Spend your money on classic key pieces like great jeans, coat/blazer, and a few work and cocktail dresses. In an attempt to only purchase high-quality, durable, and stylish clothing for exceptional prices, I use a lot of private shopping sites. For my daughter, I use sites like Zulily and The Mini Social. For the rest of my family, I use Hautelook, Rue La La, Gilt, Ideeli and more. This keeps my general clothing cost down. When purchasing a new seasonal wardrobe, go for a specific color scheme. This creates mix-n-match pieces, which expands your possible looks without buying excessively. Also look for bold accessories to further expand (think scarves, chunky necklaces, belts, etc). When in doubt, check out great mom blogs for coupon codes and giveaways!!

Under what circumstances, if any, is spanking acceptable to you?

Sarah and Erin

Violence in any form is not allowed in my house and I consider spanking a for sure form of violence. It creates a pattern of abuse as you will often hear parents say, "well I was spanked" as an excuse. Even if I was okay with the act, I do not think it is an efficient parenting skill. Punishing your child in such a way only makes them stop having bad behavior to not be hit. It does not teach them why they should behave and continue to be a good person (even when no one is around to see). So my answer is "never".
