The South is more friendly (to the point where this transplanted Yankee thought they were just being nosy for about a year). Everyone says hello and how are you and actually waits for an answer.
We love taking them swimming whether someone's backyard pool or driving out to the beach. There is just something magical about learning to swim and diving the waves.
We love Richmond, Virginia, but we are partial because our children are born and raised here. We have history, culture and an amazing intersection of industry and nature, which I find fascinating. Plus, the mountains, the beach and Washington D.C. are only 2 hours away.
