What advice would you give to a mom who wants to start couponing?

When you start couponing be excited about the money you are saving even if it's a little. Every little bit helps. Try to learn as much as you can so that you are confident on your first voyage to coupon at the store. If you are worried about it, just start with a few coupons and see how it goes. Then after a time or two you will see that it's no big deal and that you have the potential to save a lot of money.

Just using coupons on items that you buy is a starting point. However, the best way to get a product for next to nothing is to combine the coupon with sales, in store promotions, and store coupons if they have them. Then stock up while there are coupons and sales available.

I also suggest that if you have a Walmart close by that you price match sales from other local store as well as use coupons on the price matching items, as that will save you a lot of money quickly. As well as save you time & gas money from running from store to store to catch all the sales. Again start small when price matching. Try a few items first until you are comfortable with it and then price match more.

Again, be happy with the small steps you are taking to save money. Every little bit helps and the more and more you coupon the more you will save and become comfortable with it.

How much do you save yearly using coupons?

I actually don't calculate it out per year. I have a big family of 9 people and when I price match at Walmart with coupons, I tend to save $100's of dollars on most of my Walmart shopping trips each week. I have also save $100's and $100's at Rite Aid over a year. However, the biggest testimony of the money that we save because of couponing is that that I have been able to be a stay at home mom to my 7 children while my husband works. Because I save money couponing, it allows me not to have to go out in the workplace to help us make ends meet. It's totally worth it.

What is the best resource you've found for finding coupons?

The best resources for finding coupons is in the newspaper and especially the internet.

You can find coupons just about anywhere:
Here's a small list:

*Sunday newspaper – Coupon inserts (RP, SS, P&G, and occasionally bonus inserts depending on your area of the country: Parade Magazine, USA Weekly, General Mills, Target).
*Internet: printable coupons – There are a vast array of printable coupons – on printable coupon sites and manufacturer’s sites. Here are my favorite sites: RedPlum, SmartSource, Coupons.com, Coupon Network.
-Coupon mailers from companies or from a manufacturer that you have signed up in the mail or online with.
*Facebook: Facebook has recently been offering the higher value coupons to print on the individual manufacturer’s Facebook pages. Go to your favorite products, “LIKE” them, and they tend to offer high value coupons.
*In magazines –The All You Magazine is a favorite of mine that is filled with manufacturer’s coupons! You can buy this magazine only at Walmart or by subscription. Other magazines sometimes have coupons in them also.
*From the Manufacturer directly –Call and let them know you like their product or if you have a complaint about a defective product they will want to keep your business and usually send out replacement coupons.
*Inside products or on the box of a product
*Loaded to your savings card, if available, or to your cell phone (eCoupons)
Store Weekly Circular or In-store – Coupons found in the weekly ad or someplace within the store.
*Catalina/CAT - coupon on back of store receipt or printed after receipt.

The thing I suggest is follow coupon blogs (of course Lots 2 save is my favorite!) where you will see different coupons available, featured usually with deals you can get at different stores (called match ups). That is a great way to know what coupons are out there on products you use or products that you might be willing to try at great prices. The other place to go is the Coupon Database (http://lots2save.com/coupon-database/) where you can search for the product you want and it will show you the coupons available for that product as well as were to find them.

Just keep your eye open and you will find coupons all over the place.
