How often do you bathe your baby or toddler old?

Eve Lynn Kessner

I bathe my 3 month old maybe twice/week. It's less scheduled and more when I think she needs it (like after a really messy diaper, getting sweaty from being out by the pool, and whatnot). My 3 year old gets a bath every day. I add chamomile flowers and essential oils to her bath to calm her after the craziness of school. It helps her unwind, transition from the school to home environment, and get cleaned up before dinner and bed. Bath time is sorts sacred around here. I use baths for myself to destress, relax sore muscles, detox, and mellow out. I believe hydrotherapy is totally valuable and simple in the home. But for tiny bodies with sensitive skin, there's no reason to dry them out (especially in the dry Brooklyn winters). Soon she's be old enough to enjoy bath time with her big sister!

What is one practical and fashionable item every mom must have? Please include a link to a photo if you have one.

a good wallet! i can't help but feel like the older my daughter gets (and the more pregnant i get with my second), the more stuff i have to tote around. at first i had a massive kate spade wallet, then i switched to a tiny one in rebellion against the huge one taking up so much precious space in my bag, but the tiny one just made me cramp too much stuff into it that i could never later find. finally i purchased this superduper matt & nat vegan wallet that is just the right size with just the right compartments and it's earth-friendly (made without any animal products from recycled materials). i love when i can buy things that are smart, practical, and totally cute! i even bought one for my mom and mother-in-law in fun, bright colors!

How do you make shopping for your family's clothes affordable?

Eve Lynn Kessner

There is honestly no formula or straight answer. I do my best to shop at reasonably priced (yet trend forward) stores like Top Shop and H&M. I buy only things we'll really wear. Having a closet full of cool things I'll never pull out is pointless! I've conceded to only having things (for all of us) that's worth wearing in terms of practicality AND style combined. My favorite pieces are trendy basics (Top Shop is great for this) that I can layer for a casual and easy look. Colored skinny jeans for all of us jazz up our favorite "jeans and tee" look.

Where do you most enjoy shopping online for your family, and why?

Eve Lynn Kessner

Diapers.com for my kids (and even some mommy products) is a life saver! The selection is great for green, organic, and eco-products (which I stick to staunchly) and generally I get my order the next day. For anything random items, bulk, etc amazon.com's prime is pretty on point with prices and quick deliveries. Clothing we do in person (other than selective items from diapers.com for the baby). I also do a good amount of day dreaming over at onekingslane.com and etsy.com!

How Do You Make Time For Exercise?

Eve Lynn Kessner

Baby Bar and I have been doing a ton of mommy and me yoga. It helps our minds, bodies, and spirits. It's help combat everything from baby blues to colic. Yoga opens our bodies and hearts and we're so grateful for it! On days that we can't find a mommy and me we do our best to walk. Often she's in the carrier to give me a boost and her a chance for a nice long nap and occasionally we bring the stroller (which always winds up full of groceries or the day's errands while she hangs in her wrap).

What's your favorite stylish but practical beach- or pool-wear item for a mom? Please include a link to the product (cover-up, hat, sandals, etc.)

A lesson learned early in mommyhood: never leave the house without mascara! (ok I do it more often than I'd like, but I feel like a much more normal person with a coat of that black gold on my lashes;)). For by the beach I love Tarte's lights, camera, splashes waterproof mascara. It's chemical free (formulated sans, mineral oil, parabens, sodium lauryl sulfate, synthetic fragrance, and is cruelty free! It is green (eco-friendly) packaging. And all natural. Mostly it looks fab and doesn't drip or sweat off. I'm a huge fan of most of the Tarte products! I've also linked a post to other beach necessities from last summer's memorial day:)
