Join my family and me as we attempt to live large while renovating every room of our relatively small home in the seaside town of Manchester-by-the-Sea, Massachusetts. We've tackled everything from simple decorating projects to recipes

Of all the DIY projects you've done, which was your favorite?

It's hard to say... If I were to choose a small project I'd say the pallet flower box my husband and I made (see link below). But if I were to choose something that had the biggest impact on our living situation it would definitely be renovating our kitchen or bedroom. See our house tour at Migonis Home to see why. :)

What's your advice for moms who want to decorate their home on a budget?

Get on Pinterest and figure out what kind of images grab you. If you know what you really like you'll be less tempted to purchase things that you think are ho-hum later on.
We have so many pieces for our home from the side of the road, Craigslist or that were handed down to us... always look at something ugly and brainstorm a makeover for it. Know the classic shapes you love (for me, one classic shape is a farmhouse table no matter how ugly it looks!). If you have in mind a piece, say a farm house table from a high end store, it'll help you envision the makeover if you know what it could look like when completed.

Where do you find inspiration for keeping your home stylish?

I always find inspiration from Pinterest, magazines and catalogs. My children's rooms were both loosely inspired from Restoration Hardware Baby and Pottery Barn Kids. For years I've been ripping photos out of magazines that I've love and I always seem to gravitate toward the white kitchen with marble counters so we decided to go for that look in our own home when renovating. Pinterest has been a great resource for ideas from other bloggers on doing projects on a budget.
