What's a great destination for a family vacation in Europe?

We live in a holiday destination in the South of France! The whole region has so many things to offer from vineyards and historical monuments, national parks, the beach, mountains, amazing markets (and the food!) - you name it! It's got a bit of everything! The great thing about Europe is that it doesn't take long to visit other regions and countries.

What's the biggest misconception people have about raising a family in the European Union?

Probably that you have to only speak the language of country in which you live in. As a native English speaker I was often told I should only speak French at home - luckily that started to change when BiP started talking in French and English with no issues. (And most think I am fluent in French as I live here - and sadly I'm not - YET!)
