What's the one food you could never live without?

Honestly, as basic as it sounds, cereal. I grew up eating cereal every morning and, before I felt comfortable cooking in the kitchen, cereal was my staple for breakfast and dinner!

What's a treat your kids love that's actually healthy?

My kids love edamame and guacamole now. We eat edamame as a snack and we love make fresh guacamole with cilantro grown in the garden.

What's your best tip for feeding a picky eater?

Be patient and be willing to introduce new foods over and over and over again. Sometimes it's on the 10th try that your finicky eater will like something. But, always offset something they might not like with something you know they'll eat. Our dinner plates always contain at least one food item I know my kids eat and one I hope they'll try. And, get them involved in the kitchen so they feel more invested in their meals!

We LOVE guacamole in our house. We eat it year round and love making it together as a family. One of my kids cuts the avocado and scoops it up, the other one uses the mocajete to grind up the avocado with onions and cilantro. My husband loves dousing the finished product with hot sauce and topping it off with diced tomatoes! We'll eat the guacamole with anything but our favorite is blue corn chips. They're as perfect during the summer at a BBQ as they are in the winter when we're watching the Superbowl! Enjoy.
