What inspired you to start blogging?
I started blogging as a way to chronicle the adoption journey of our two special need's babies from half-way across the world. The first posts on our blog are sorry at best. Over the years our blog has evolved into reflections of our trials and seemingly insignificant, but ordinary miracles that occur in a busy family of 8. Life passes so quickly, and without the reflection a blog offers, the precious little moments that life is made can be overlooked. I keep blogging to express my love of adoption and photography, and trying to inspire other mamas to savor life's everyday ordinary miracles.
What are three distinctive features of your blog?
1. An unfolding story of adoption and special needs kiddos whose biggest need turned out to be that they needed a family to hold them tight and love them forever.
2. Incessant psychoblather of a mama to a large brood including 2 in high school, 1 in middle school, 1 in grade school, 2 in preschool, and walking the path for one more!
3. Photographs and photography tips & tricks that hopefully inspire others to document the little things that life presents. Plus a little monthly photo contest for all and just for fun.
How has blogging changed your journey as a family?
Increased exposure to progesterone and advanced maternal age have rendered my memory (and bladder) useless. Blogging has provided us an opportunity to reflect on the happenings of our big ol' crazy family. Our children are pretty sure that they are cyber-stars in the bloggie world. In the midst of the chaos of raising 6 children, parenting special need's kiddos, becoming foster parents, adopting, and eliminating unwanted facial hair, blogging helps me connect and learn from other mamas, and feel a bit more normal.
