I am the mama of three energetic little men that fill me with joy and drive me crazy. I have an amazing husband and we are on the road to kid #4. We are a house full of love, adventure and lots of messy diapers.

My Favorite Family Activity

The simplest things seem to be the most fun for us. Getting the boys outside to run around and explore — whether at the park or the zoo, or in our own backyard — it's so fun to watch them interact and play, and be boys together. It also doesn't hurt that it burns off some of that rambunctious energy!

How Blogging Changed My Family Life

Blogging has helped me to see each experience with new eyes. Even on the hardest, most tiring of days, I try to look for something to be grateful for, to turn it around and share honestly and thankfully what I am experiencing. It has also given me a tangible way to record the excitement that is our daily life for the boys to enjoy in the future.

A Unique Feature of My Blog

We have three boys — two biological, one adopted, and we are in the process of adopting a baby girl! With two of our boys only four months apart, we are definitely a unique family, which makes for great stories and real life lessons.

Will it be difficult to have two kids two years apart?

Carina S

We have three boys - ages 4, 2 and 1. Most days are crazy, but I wouldn't trade it for anything. I love that they are at the same stages and growing up together. Yes, there are a lot of diapers and laundry, but the blessings far outweigh the burdens.

What is your best tip for keeping the entryway clean and clutter-free?

Carina S

Bins! They can be cute baskets or practical plastic, but I find bins are the best way to contain clutter. One for shoes, one for bags, one for books, etc. You could also do cute hooks for coat, book bags, etc.

What is an easy vegetable recipe that your kids love?

Carina S

Smoothies are an easy quick veg/fruit fix for us. I also grate or puree vegetables to add to sauces. But to get them to actually eat a vegetable, roasted broccoli is a hit. Way more flavorful than steamed. Just toss it with a little olive oil and sprinkle with salt and roast on a cookie sheet at 425 for about 15-20 minutes, until al dente and a little charred. Even my husband couldn't believe how tasty it was!

How do I cope with stress from being a mother?

Carina S

Prayer and alone time. Honestly, just having 5 minutes in the morning before all the craziness begins helps keep me calm through the morning. If your kids have outgrown naps, giving them quiet time alone in their rooms (separating them is key) to read or color or play will give you time to regroup and relax, even if it's only 20-30 minutes. And don't pressure yourself to get everything done once they go to bed at night. Allow yourself a little time to do something you enjoy or have an undistracted conversation with your spouse. And remember: this too shall pass!
