How long have you been a teacher?

I have been teaching English since September 1995.

What are three of your favorite books for children? (Please share what age they are best for.)

I have many favourite books for children, in English but also in Romanian, my mother tongue. The Top 3 written in English would be:
1 Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, by Roald Dahl.
2 Callie's Rules, by Naomi Zucker.
3 Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Greg Heffley’s Journal, by Jeff Kinney.
As my students learn English as a Foreign Language, I use these books when they are teenagers, most of the times coupled either with the film version, or with the Romanian translation, or we simply read the abbreviated story (graded reader).

What can parents do to help when their child doesn't like school?

I think the best thing a parent can do is to help their child like school from a very early age. Also, if the dislike comes at some point during school years, the parent needs to understand the reason(s) behind this and address it/them as unobtrusively as possible.
