Real Housewife of Singapore

My life in Singapore as a Mom, Wife, Expat, and social butterfly.

How We Became an Expat Family

While living in Austin a company approached my husband to take a job in Malaysia. We were young and ready for adventure! We then moved to Singapore, realized we could be here a while, and decided it was as good a place as any to have children, so expat couple became expat family!

What I Enjoy Most and Least About Where I Live

Singapore is a country that wants to have its hands in everything, so you are never far from whatever you want. Theater, museums, shopping, beach, casinos, parks, zoos — you name it, it's here somewhere! There is even a place to go snow skiing! It's hard not to like Singapore. I don't like being so far from my family. I get homesick often.

What's the best thing you've done to make your family feel at home in your new community?

Paula Marie Robinson

I joined an expat group (American Women's Association) and started volunteering for local charities. Between those those groups I was able to quickly make both local and expat friends! I just put myself out there with a friend face, and reached out to people. I have a pretty active social life now, and so do my boys!! Home is where you make it!
