How did your decorating style change when you became a mom?
Being a Mom of twins, once motherhood stepped in, I quickly realized nothing would be "off limits". I always want my kids to feel at home in our home. So my style stayed the same, but my approach definitely became more accommodating for all ages. The kids can be kids in every room.
What's your advice on creating a beautiful family space that works for both kids and adults?
The answer to creating a great space for the whole family is comfort and organization. That way the central hub for you family will "feel" like home - great colors, comfy furniture - while maintaining a clutter-free space where everyone can relax.
How would you decorate a child's room on a budget?
When decorating kids rooms, you must remember - they are kids, and yes, their taste will change! Keeping that in mind and the cost down I say repurpose, reuse and hit those discount stores. I am always surprised how many pieces I have laying around that once moved function great in another space. And since kids have an ever evolving style, hitting the discount stores to purchase accent pieces is a great way to stay in budget and on style.
