What's your favorite allergy friendly product?

Nature's Path Millet-Rice cereal as it contains whole grains and is lightly sweetened with organic fruit juice.

What's the biggest challenge raising a child with food allergies?

Protecting a child outside of the home. Restaurants, school, birthday parties all become much more daunting once allergies are diagnosed. We have found that being very straightforward with our son about his allergies from the beginning has made his own allergy-free advocate. He is diligent about never accepting food from anyone as he knows how he could react. We also make sure he never feels left out or that having food allergies is in any way an inconvenience.

Jennifer

Tips For Making a Healthy Breakfast For Kids

Jennifer

No sugar cereal is best and is pretty tasty when you add on some apple juice sweetened cranberries on top. Add a tsp of ground flax, hemp seeds, and or chia for a protein and omega packed bowl of cereal. Oatmeal loaded up with pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds and raisins - yum! Or wholegrain bread, again, watch the sugar, with natural almond butter and bananas on top. Healthy muffins are great too.

How do you treat eczema?

Jennifer

We treat our children's eczema with natural creams, protective specialty eczema clothing, and limiting exposure to known triggers such as food allergies, detergents, heat, and stress. Please take a look at our online store for children with eczema. You'll find products to help soothe your itchy little world. The Eczema Company I just finished up a spoof on eczema parenting called "Stuff Eczema Mamas Say" - you can search for it on YouTube. I think you'll find you can relate :) Jennifer

Did you consider a home birth?

Jennifer

I had a water birth at a hospital with a midwife with my first child and a home birth with my second. I 100% preferred the home birth. Both pregnancies had zero complications, same with the births. Obviously, these two things are crucial for a home birth. It was a lovely experience and so relaxed...just wonderful. The at home follow up visits were an added bonus!

Is it normal to have back pain 7 months after having a baby?

Jennifer

Actually, my pain didn't start until 8 months after birth. My osteopath said this is due to the natural hormones we produce after birth and while nursing - it took 8 months for my body to adjust and for me to actually feel the pain. Turns out the pain was due to a flipped uturus! It was causing ligaments to pull on my spine.
