You could say we have a thing for trees in our house. For Valentine's Day we make a Heart Tree ( for example) and each Easter we make a Spring Tree. I love this project because it is one part kid craft project, one part home decor project for mom. Here's How:
You will need:
Small branches from a tree outside
Brightly colored tissue paper ( go wild this year with brightly colored neon)
White glue or (for mom only) hot glue
Step one: While mom crams the small branches into a vase or urn, have the kids crumple up small squares of tissue paper. Secure the branches if need be with newspaper crumpled up and pushed down into the base of the vase.
Step two: Glue the crumpled tissue paper all over the branches concentrating on where actual leaves and flowers would sprout.
Then PRESTO! You've just made a Spring Tree!
Wasn't that easy. You can make one for just about every season!
