What's your favorite kid-friendly app?
We love the Scholastic Storia app. Scholastic brings back great memories for me and I love that with the changing technology, Scholastic is keeping up and bringing those awesome titles to kids to read. Changing with the technology is important to keep up with the kids.
What tips would you give a mom who wants to become more tech savvy?
Start by finding technology that will make your life easier or more fun. If you are a runner, look into gadgets for running. If the technology makes your life easier, you are more apt to use it and your love for tech will grow from there. I always ask myself one question when looking at new gadgets, "Will this improve my life in some way?" If I can't find one reason why it'll improve my life, then I don't need it.
What's the most innovative gadget for children you've seen?
It's not one gadget that I find innovative, but rather the way gadgets especially tablets and iPad are being used for kids. At my children's elementary school, they have a student who doesn't speak, but he uses his iPad to speak by typing in the words. My kids don't see it as odd. It's just the way it is. I love that!
Even my kids will use games on their iPod Touch to practice math or spelling.

My kids LOVE the Aerobie Flying Ring (Amazon has for $10). They have kids & adult size, but we just use the adult size. The dog loved it too.

There are so many things I'd want to say, but here are the ones that stand out as the most important:
1. This too shall pass. Sometimes what you are going through right now seems like it will last forever, but it won't. It will get better.
2. You can have it all....just not all at once. You can't be the best at everything all the time. Don't expect to be. Figure out what is important to you right now and make it a priority. Your priorities will change. Don't be afraid of the changes. Embrace them.
3. Trust your instincts. Whether it's as a mom or in life, if your gut says, "yes," go with it. If your gut says, "no," go with it. Sometimes you won't know why, but it will become clear later.
4. Have fun! Life is way too short to worry about everything.
