Apples! My son could eat an entire apple tree. Apples are easy to throw into a bag for a snack on the go. On days I have time, I put out a plate with cheese, crackers, and some fruit. The way, both kids can make up their own snack creations.

What's an affordable and fun family activity?

Parks! We spend a lot of time at local parks - from hiking at bigger county parks to small, neighborhood parks with enough room to kick around a soccer ball, play catch, or try out a different playground. It's easy, generally free (some state or county parks have a parking fee), and gets us outdoors, which boosts our moods and burns off wild kid energy.

Can you recommend a great toy that costs less than $10? Please share a link to a photo.

Last summer we reconnected with the simple fun of a Wiffle Bat and Ball. Pick up wiffle ball games popped up throughout the day, and anyone at any level could join in. Great fun for about $5 a set.
