My daughter and I love to make jam together. We started making jam when she was 3. It's a wonderful activity for children -- most love all the mashing, pouring and stirring and the "kitchen science" aspect that occurs when fruit becomes jam. It's also a great activity for family bonding and sharing long afternoons in the kitchen, making things together. (And, of course, the jam itself tastes fantastic!) My daughter's a teen now and we still make jam together whenever we can.
