As a young family we don't have the luxury of taking expensive vacations. We tend to save vacation time for around the holidays so we can spend more time with our families. However, we do try to make it around locally (Southern Alberta). The kids love a day trip to Calgary where we can spend the day at the fabulous Calgary Zoo, stepping back in time at Heritage Park or a quick detour at Calaway Park. We also love Waterton, and love that it is almost in our backyard. Great food, amazing hikes and lots of adventures abound. The best part? We can make it home in time for bedtime.

What is your favorite quick breakfast recipe?

Danielle

My kids adore scrambled eggs, but I find it's not often "enough". So in order to jazz them up and bulk them up, I add random veggies from in the fridge. Generally it winds up being those left over veggies that you didn't fully use in last nights dinner! Anything goes- we add cheese, mushrooms, green peppers, red peppers, onions, spinach and even tomatoes. When they are done, if the kids want, they can have them in wraps,or on their own with whole wheat toast. If the veggies are pre-cut, this breakfast can be done in 10 minutes flat!

Can you recommend a stylish bag that is big enough for all the stuff moms tote around? Please share a link if you can.

Danielle

With my son, I settled with a bland, gender neutral diaper bag that had no storage, and was just a duffle bag dressed up as a "diaper bag" essentially. We ended up wearing through it really fast too, because it wasn't the greatest quality. When I had my daughter, I figured that it was time for an upgrade. I'd been drooling all over the JuJuBe diaper bags for years by that point, and the only thing stopping me was the epic price tag. After a rather frustration bag explosion (packing for two means a bigger bag is necessary!), I took myself out and invested in a JuJuBe BFF. Best decision, ever! The bag has gone through multiple overnight trips, many playdates, and still looks brand new. I can pack it as full as my heart desires, and still have room left over for my stuff- my wallet, lotions, keys, gum, even a book! Not to mention, the patterns are to die for! Definitely worth every penny spent!
