What kind of art inspires you the most?

My daughters and I gain inspiration for our projects by impromptu museum visits and frequent trips to the library. Just perusing works of art, whether in person or from a book, and discussing what we like and don't like opens up a dialogue to art appreciation and leads to ideas for future projects. Most museums offer some sort of kid-friendly resource or newsletter to help parents with a starting-off point.

What's one of your favorite art projects you've done with your child? (Feel free to include a link to a picture.)

What do you do with all the art projects your child creates? (If you have a photo of the way you display art, please share a link.)

Ideally I would like to keep all of it, but realistically that is not an option. Awhile back I started binding my own books and since then I realized I could easily utilize this process to document my children's art projects. If their project is too big or bulky to fit in a book I can take pictures of their artwork and at the end of the year bind it all together to show their progress. Since making the decision to homeschool my children I have delved wholeheartedly into the adventure and have amassed a wealth of materials and resources. In order to keep track of everything efficiently I have created an organized homeschooling area that surpasses all other areas in my house in terms of organization and tidiness. Now if only I could get the rest of my house up to this standard I would be VERY happy. But I suppose it's only natural to spend more time and give more attention to the things that we love, and instilling a love of learning and fostering a well-rounded education in my children is my top priority right now. http://www.teachingstars.com/2012/05/09/confessions-of-a-curriculum-junkie-part-2/

What trend (toy, game, clothing style, etc.) are kids your child's age hooked on right now? (Please include your child's age and a link if you can.)

My 3 year old is obsessed with her Dr. Suess Stretchy ABC game. She's recently learned her letters and sounds and she loves showing off her knowledge with this fun and engaging game. It's basically twister for young children! http://www.teachingstars.com/2012/05/14/more-fun-than-a-barrel-of-monkeys/
