What's your best advice for a mom struggling with cooking for children with food allergies?
Take a deep breath and KNOW it GETS EASIER!!
If you can, try the baby step approach...replacing one beloved food at a time (sometimes symptoms to not allow for this!).
Arm yourself with a handful of standby recipes that you can always rely on....many foods are naturally free of allergens....it is the processed foods that get you into trouble!
Most foods found in the PERIMETER of the store of whole, real foods that don't have sneaky allergens tucked in somewhere
Find support in the form of online bloggers or your local community....everyone needs an outlet for what can be a trying journey. People like me GET IT, we have been in there in your shoes before and would love to help you and hear you vent! It is why most of us started blogs ourselves!
What's your favorite allergy friendly product?
Again...PERIMETER OF THE STORE!! Enjoy Life makes loads of great products, and new fabulous ones are coming out daily.
Bob's Red Mill is my go-to for gluten free flours.
What's the biggest challenge raising a child with food allergies?
Not always having an easy button. Most of our foods our made from scratch, so it is lots of work, but it a labor of love and very rewarding to have such a close relationship with your food.
Being different and dealing with the outside world can also be a challenge as many will question you and simply will not get it. Comment and looks can be quite irritating, and your child wants to be just like everyone else.

What is your favorite quick breakfast recipe?
We do breakfast pizzas. I use either chopped sausage or deli ham, sprinkle over the top of a brown rice tortillas, crack1 or 2 eggs over the top, sprinkle a favorite cheese. Bake at 425 for 8-10 minutes, depending on if you like hard or soft yolks. Of course I put hot sauce on mine! At 380 calories, it is a good meal to stick with you for the morning.
I also make big batches of pancakes or waffles, and freeze the leftovers for toaster waffles on busy mornings
Smoothies are also very quick and a great way to get loads of fruits and veggies into my little ones!

Easy Homemade Chicken Soup. Nothing quite as comforting as a steaming bowl of fresh homemade soup. This one is incredibly good and WAY easy!

What's your advice on setting a food budget?
First and foremost, there is no ONE right food budget for all families, There are different food needs, different tastes, and different food beliefs. Decide what things you value most: nutritious food? Food you can trace easily to it's source? Convenience? Price?
Next, consider buying things in bulk - items that your family uses all the time and that you know you get through. Amazon Subscribe & Save program is a excellent resource, and often sells things for far less than the grocery stores. They also have great warehouse deals, always worth checking out!
One of the biggest things you can do is plan a menu, make a corresponding list of needed ingredients, AND THEN STICK TO THAT LIST IN THE GROCERY STORE! By only buying what you need, you don't spend needless money on impulse purchases.
