How would you recommend moms talk to their sons about puberty?

This all depends on the relationship between a mom and her son. If they have an open relationship, where they could already talk about anything and everything then why should puberty be any different? The more uncomfortable someone is about talking about it, the more uncomfortable (and embarrassing) both parties will be having a conversation about it. Growing up, I didn't expect either of my parents to speak to me about puberty. Is this something that teens expect parents to talk about or blame them if they don't? I think I learned about it in biology class. I remember seeing a banana and a condom in health class, but honestly had no idea what that was about at the time. Go through your son's biology book and see if it covers the topic well enough. If so, enough said. Just make sure they do their homework. You've done your job. It's so awesome that we have technology today. Moms can get together with other moms (and dads, if invited) online and see how other moms are dealing with sons going through puberty or have gone through it. Always remember that you're not alone in this and shouldn't have to go through it alone, either.What's your favorite holiday app?

Similar to D. Brent, I enjoy using scanning apps when shopping for the holidays or anytime, for that matter. With these apps, you can scan barcodes and read up on reviews and look for the best prices on the net. Since I'm a big fan of Amazon, I use the Amazon Mobile app on my Droid. When I'm shopping at stores, I can scan the barcodes and do some quick price comparisons and see what others have to say about the products I'm interested in purchasing. When I'm at home, I can simply type and search for items, too. When going on impulse, you can buy products straight through the app. Another useful shopping app is ShopSavvy, which also allows you to scan products or type and search. If you open a ShopSavvy account, they can help customize your shopping needs and it also provides local listings and allows for connecting with other ShopSavvy users. I would have to agree with Drew, Mitch, and Clint. I would be more comfortable if it was called, "Parent and Me," or "Mommy and Me" (Dads are welcome, too). Even if I felt comfortable attending (because I didn't want my child to miss out on something), I would worry about making the moms uncomfortable, especially because of the name of the event. Or, dads can host "Daddy and Me" events. Would any moms be comfortable in participating in those?|
