The IKEA Trofast system is a dream come true for moms! I painted mine and put photos on each bin so that my twins (who cannot read yet) would know what goes where. I also created extra seating in the playroom by adding cushions.

What do you do with all the art projects your child creates?

The DIGNITET wire curtain rods from IKEA are a wonderful way to create a rotating display of artwork ... and children love to see their art on display! When it's time to rotate the artwork out, try taking a snapshot and -- at the end of each school year -- compiling it into a photo book using Kodak Gallery, Shutterfly or one of the other photo sites. It's a great way to preserve the memories -- and space in your home.

How do you decorate a shared room for opposite sex siblings?

I love to use similar fabrics or patterns but in different colorways. Picture a room painted apple green. Brother can use apple green and robin's egg blue, while Sister can enjoy the classic "pink and green." It's a "win-win," and that simple differentiation is often sufficient to satisfy younger children! As children grow older, though, creating some type of individual space is important.
