What are your tips for organizing a child's closet so that you can stay ahead of growth spurts and seasonal changes?

Laura

My daughters are now 16 and 21, so the growth spurts are basically over (except maybe for my 16-year-old). But I always cleaned out their closet, toy box, etc a few weeks before Christmas and few weeks before school started. If I didn't get to clean out before Christmas, I would go through their closet right before or right after their birthday, which are both in January. This helped me clean out clothes & toys they had outgrown just before new items came in.

What's a great finger food that your kids love? Please include a link.

Laura

I have teens, who love to eat. I like to make homemade pizza rolls using crescent rolls (cut into 4ths) & then add different fillings, seal, brush with butter & Italian seasoning, and bake. Their friends love them too, and they are quick, easy, and healtier than chips.

Does your child's school do lockdown drills, and if so, how does your child feel about them?

Laura

After Luke Woodham shot up Pearl High School, all the schools in Pearl have lockdown drills, replaced glass with bullet proof glass & all entrances stay locked. They have never bothered either one of my daughters (neither were in high school at the time of the shooting, but are now). I started student teaching in August & I was at the Upper Elementary when they had a lockdown drill. It sort of freaked me out. It's sad that schools have to have these kinds of drills.
