My son was born Feb 20th. Most of us are probably in birthday party planning mode. I know I am. I get really excited about it as if it was my own! As far as the stomping of the feet and throwing tantrums, my son tries it too. But over the last year, I have mastered the "look". And now when my son starts to throw a fit, I give him the "look" and he stops himself, or settles down quickly. I'm not sure if I'm doing him a dis-service by not letting him express his emotions, but I"m a firm believer of using your words to say what you want, especially now that his vocabulary has flourished. I would never allow slamming doors or saying things like I hate you. I believe if you make allow it now, it will only worsen by the time their teenagers and you have no control. So instead my sons doesn't get his way,he'll say "You're not my friend" or I"m angry with you. I can live with that.

Like everyone else i have a lil lady born in feb 05 and well it must be a trend or the age my lil one is just discovering that we don't always get what we want when we want it and wow the foot stomps the slamming of the bedroom door the "nobody loves me"

i knew one day it would come so now i wonder if this is how it will be until she's 18!

At least right now she still likes us i dread the teenage years where im no longer cool

Hello! I have a Feb 2005 little girl as well who is a big fan of stomping her feet & yelling when she doesn't get her own way. It has been a long month in my house!! I get through most days by telling myself she is almost 4 it will get better!! I know, but it is working for now!! I am not sure what I am doing for her birthday yet... I think I am just going to do a small family thing at the house with a few of our friends & kids.

thanks. Also...you do the party YOU and your little guy want. You know - a skating party may be too young for some kids, but if he likes it...who cares?! I do wish we could have a summer bash outside though. Another mom of a Feb baby and I have always thought of doing a 1/2 birthday party together with outside games and a moon bounce.

thanks for the advice. I will try the ignore or Mocking approach.

Oh about temper tantrums, I ignore them. His Godmommy mocks him, which makes him stop and look at her, like "what's wrong w/u?". It works for her.

thank you. Do many of you face the challenge I do w/planning your February baby's b-day? For my son's 1st b-day our state had a blizzard. 22inches of snow fell on the ground. It was a miracle 13 people showed up. That included our household members of 6. Now I was planning an ice skating party, but some people think he's too young for that.

Thank you. I love seeing all the posts from each of you - since we are all in the same boat. I have a little girl born Feb 2005 and she has been a challenge lately with the temper tantrums - for the littlest things! Yikes.
