With my first child I wasn't able to breast feed because my milk dried up or just never fully came in. Is there anything I can do to make sure this doesn't happen again?

Like others said, drink lots of water and mothers milk tea. Pumping after you feed will also help increase your supply.

Take Fenugreek and Blessed Thistle - these are herbal drugs. I'm guessing that the tea that LauraBeth mentioned probably containes these. Also, talk to your OB and get Domperidone perscribed - this is a perfectly safe drug that has been proven to increase the milk production in women.

I had the same problem with my first, and am so scared that I won't be able to breastfeed again with my second. I am definitely going to look into that tea!

Drink plenty of water (doesn't matter cold, warm, or room-temperature), and have a BIG glass of water near you at all time -- day and night!!

Drinking helps a lot, trust me!!

Thank you so much for asking this question, the milk never really came in with my first child and I have to supplement then it just quit (the lactation consultant said it was due to the stressful and tramatic labor I went thru)

this time around I am very nervous that I will not be able to produce, so I got online and I found a tea called mothers milk tea. I have done a lot of studing on this tea and everyone has said it has been a life saver for them I pray that it works for me as well. even my OBGYN said that it has been proven to work to help produce more milk.
