Feeding a 13 month old - different schedules

I feed both my breasts after lunch, tea and top up at night. The morning one I give her one boob before brekkie and then the other one after. Thats just because I know she will have a really good drink after sleeping all night. Her feeds are basically down to 3 or 4 minutes either breast now. So I like when she takes a really good feed in the morning. :)

i noticed that most of you only feed from one side during a feed i've always fed from both is ther a reason for only feeding one side or how does that work

My daughter is 12.5 months and i really can't say for sure how much she feeds. I know she feeds one breast before her morning nap, the other after, same in the afternoon, a big feed before bed at 9:30pm and then I fill her up around 11 or 12 on my way to bed. But she usually ends up coming into bed with me around 3am and starts with the all you can eat buffet which i usually sleep through ending with a big feed shortly before breakfast. She eats at least 2 or 3 meals a day with the family (when she's not napping) and loves to snack in between, breast or whatever else she can get her teeth into...

Thanks Michelle. Seems we have similar schedules. I was just wondering whether mums were still feeding before solids or after. Seems mine is about average then :)

I feed my children on a schedual so when my daughter was 13 months she fed 3 times a day wake feed 6am 12pm lunch feed and 6pm night feed i always breastfed before meals except for the morning feed she had 2 sleeps per day 8-10 and 2-4 and slept from 6 30pm till 6am this continued to 15 months when i stoped feeding and replaced feeds with cows milk in sippy cups. i hope this helps what your doing sounds fine

My 15 month old doesn't eat on a schedule- but neither do I. I'm hungry, I eat, you know? I nurse her on demand, and offer it as well, if we've been particularly distracted or busy. She eats meals whenever everyone else does.



I honestly couldn't tell you how many times she's latched on to my breast because I don't know, lol. It might be once an our for a bit, and then several times during the next couple of hours, none at all for another couple of hours because she's napping...she also nurses 3-4 times a night...I think? But again, I can't say for sure, because I sleep through some. Nursing is her source of comfort as well, so I definitely don't put a time constraint on that.

my son is the same age. i nurse him for about 4 min every hour, alternating boobs. then before bed he does about 15 min on each side. then i feed on demand at night which averages to be about every 2 hours. he's not too interested in solids.
