I cut out the cereals completely. My baby was getting really badly constipated. I kept giving him green veggies and once he was regular again, then I continued with all other veggies and fruits and of course kept giving him breast milk.

I agree with Jocelyn...I would have said exactly that!

Rice cereal is not essential to a baby. It's tastes bad and really all it is is empty calories. If she is having a hard time with it just stop. You can either try again later, or just skip it all together. Go straight to carrots or sweet potato (try veggies first, then fruit later). And of course keep nursing her. I nursed my son for 21 months and he hated rice cereal, so we just went straight to veggies at about 6 months. Don't stress, every baby is different!

I didn't do solids until 1 year. I just stuck with the nursing. It worked for us. We tried rice cereal and baby food but our son wasn't in to it. When he turned 1 we went out for dinner and gave him a spoon and he went right for the refried beans and rice. She's probably just not ready yet. No need to push the solids she is getting everything from mom that she needs :)
