15 month old, only wants to breastfeed. Help!

Thanx everyone. I'm new here and I am loving this community. I already have a much better perspective on the situation. Thanx to all of u. I'm a BF fan. I love to be that close to my baby. Now i know i can count on u. :-)

A grown human could live off of breast milk alone. Its packed with nutrition. As long as your fine with breastfeeding, keep doing what your doing. When my 3 year old was that age she didn't eat a great deal, but still nursed heavily. I just let her. She is done nursing now and perfectly average weight and hight.

My son had many breast milk only days (mostly while sick or teething.. he'd spend all day at my breast nursing and dozing) up til 18 months and still had the occasional meal (usually lunch since he'd nap through lunch time... for 2-3 hours) of only breast milk when he was 2. Perfectly happy, healthy, thriving 4 year old now. :)

I don't know about Ivonne's daughter, but my 15 month old has been eating solids for months now and only just started refusing to eat anything but frozen strawberries, bananas and breast milk. And I don't know about Ivonne, but my 15 month old also eats fine at my MIL's it's just at home she does this and won't sleep either!

Not a problem. She knows what she needs and you milk is MUCH healthier for her than ANYTHING else she could be eating. Our culture pushes table food too much and too soon and it's not healthy. She'll eat other things when her guts are ready to digest them.

Ivonne I was going to ask the same thing! My nearly 16 month old is teething again and she'll hardly eat anything and always wants to nurse! She doesn't sleep either!

Not a problem. Just continue to offer her meals/snacks of food on a regular basis and let her decide when she eats. They grow out of this stage eventually. :)

it's not a problem!

My 19 month old also opts to have only breast milk in the morning. She just doesn't like to eat breakfast. She does just fine with lunch and dinner, and eats snacks in between too. She also breastfeeds just before nap time, and usually shortly after waking up from her nap. Then she breastfeeds just before bed, and during the night at least once.. sometimes more. I have been finding that she'll eat a bit of something for breakfast if I offer lunch or dinner foods. She just really doesn't like cereal, or oatmeal, or pancakes or waffles, or granola bars etc. She will eat eggs in the morning sometimes. She also loves cashews and peanuts so she will snack on those in the morning time too. Sometimes it's just a matter of finding what she's willing to eat.

Breastmilk is very nutritious for a toddler. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. It's always good to know that when my LO isn't eating much or is being picky about what she does eat... she's filling in those nutritional gaps with breast milk.
