4 month old tugging on my nipple when eating

I have a 4 month old son, who has begun teething and he constantly tugs on my breast like they are a toy. I take my nipple out of his mouth and tell him no but he just looks at me like whatever lady. He is constantly doing it, my right nipple has become very sore and the nipple it self is becoming red, it hurts so bad.

How do I stop this habit before it gets worse and how do I make the pain go away?

It's hard for me to say what you should do if he is actually playing. There are breastfeeding problems that can be fixed that cause children to pull back on the nipple repeatedly during feeding. Are you sure he is meaning to play? My son and daughter both pulled back on my nipples when feeding and it was because my nipples were retreating inside the breast tissue when they would put pressure and suction on them to feed. I am wondering if that is whats going on her or is he truely playing or teething. If he is playing and teething then you are doing the right thing and he will grow tired of doing it. Lanolin works well for soreness and also beast soft shells to keep your clothes off your nipple to allow it to heal. Here's what I am talking about, you would probably only need one and they are wash and wear.
