7 month old refusing baby food?!

My breastfed 7 month old has been refusing to eat baby food the past 2 weeks! We started him on solids at 4 months and he's done great. I either puree my own food or buy organic baby food in jars. He will only have breastmilk and table food. He can't feed himself yet though so I am afraid to transition him to table food although I do let him have food in his mesh holder and some things he can eat like baby mum mum rice crackers and certain fruit and veg that he can't get a big bite of. Is he just ready for big boy food!? Could it be teething? He has 4 top teeth coming through!

Thanks Naomi, that's what I've been reading- that breastmilk is number 1 so as long as he has that he's good. It's just the whole must-have-solids-in-order-to-sleep thing everyone tells me about that I worry about. He still wakes up twice a night to breastfeed. But it doesnt bother me too much so I guess I'll just stick with what I'm doing and see if he picks it back up eventually!

My 14 month old goes through periods where he is less interested in foods and more interested in lots of nursing. 7 months old is still a little early as breastmilk is number one source of nutrition until a year. My son didnt care much for solids until about 8 or 9 months, and he always preferred soft cut up peices of food over purees. Maybe try cutting up veggies in little chunks and steaming them so he can feed himself. Whenever new teeth come in DS starts refusing food too, so that could be the case also! Just remember solids are only for fun until a year while breastmilk is number 1! It's not a race to get him on solids either, he will be eating food all day before you know it!
