My daughter is almost 9 mos old and we have been exclusively bf'ing all along, never a drop of formula offered. She does eat quite a big of solids, but I also pump to keep up supply even when I am not at work. I am already using fenugreek, it helped the first time i took it...doesn't seem to be helping this time.
I was really hoping ot make it straight from breastmilk to real milk but now I'm not sure if I'll make it 3 more months, my supply just seems to be dropping off. It seems to be ok when I nurse her, but when I try to pump I am getting less and less. And I feel full too, its like all of a sudden I can't let down with the pump. And pumping while I feed her is not an option, most of the time I am not with her, and if I am, she is too nosy, she would just pull at the tubes and not eat....not to mention, her body would be in teh way off the bottle etc.
Any other ideas? I see the dr. in a few weeks for her 9 mo appt and i am going to ask how soon i can start supplementing with real milk. I only come up about 4-6 oz short a day...but i dont have alot in backup anymore b/c of the first time my supply dropped off.
Any thoughts...i REALLY REALLY don't want to give my baby formula! =( I dont want to stop nursing either, but its more important to me for her to not get formula, than to keep nursing. if i thought i could get enough if i exclusively pumped and bottle fed i would....but like i said i cant' get anything with the pump all of a sudden.
