I stay @ home with my 4 month old and want to start watching a couple of kids at the house to get some income and for my son to have other children to socialize with. I worked at a childcare center for almost 7 years before having my son so I have lots of experience in the field. Ive researched it a little bit but ive heard that if you get licensed with the state then you can write off some things on your taxes for the "business" any tips or info? much appreciated :)

What country are you in? I know in Australia if you are doing family day care then you can claim about 30% of your expenses on tax for your business purposes including rent paid. But if you have a mortgage or own your house then you can not claim anything for this purpose but you can still claim the 30% for electricity, phone etc.
