My 8 wk old is exclusively breastfed and I want to be able to pump and leave her at home with daddy but she has other ideas. She hates the bottle. Any suggestions on how to get her to take the bottle. I have tried using different bottles to see if she liked some more then others but nothing is making a difference! Help?!

My son would take an expressed bottle, my middle daughter would not, and the new little one will not either. We tried several including the adiri bottles (which were the least rejected). The adiri ones are supposed to be most like the breast. But no dice. The girls wouldn't/ won't take a bottle. Some kids don't.

even i have the same problem my daughter is 2 1/2 and i want to get her off breast feed she doesnt want to take a bottle how do i stop her anyone there to help me in this .

Pretty common. Mine has never had a bottle.

I had my husband give him the first few bottles, squirting a little milk from the nipple of the bottle helps too. That way they know what's in there. Don't be surprised if he doesn't like taking bottles from you. Mine took bottles from anyone for awhile but now if I try he just plays with it. We used the Dr. Brown bottles which worked for us.

We use the Playtex Drop In Bottles (slow flow) and our baby likes those. We introduced the bottle on and off starting the second week, so he takes both. In the hospital to get him to latch to me they used a sugar water solution...you could ask your doctor about trying that on the bottle nipple. Good luck!!

also i just stuck with one bottle they refuse any bottle cos its not boobie.....

i had the same problem too for a long time i changed bottles and formula no he takes it fine the trick is give them a little in a bottle as soon as they crack up and get upset stop and take it away i used to do it around 11 am but then wait 10 mins before you breast feed them so they are not being rewarded with yummy boobie straight away also try and be calm as they can feel u anxious... i have to admit when my cherub finally took the bottle i cried cos it was a tricky journey and we did it together he is 5 mths now and has both bottle and boobie good luck .....:)

i had the same problem with my son Theo who is now 2, i started expressin when he was 6wks old,if u get a bottle ready and pop out leaving daddy with her she has no other choice but to take it, if u r around her she can sense your milk and wont take the bottle. i know its hard but she will get use to taking the bottle. im goin through it again now with my 8wk old but i leave him with his dad for 2hrs every wed nite and he has now started takin bottle.
