I just had my third child now 5 days old and now when i cough i wee a little. thankfully wearing huge pads as i had stitches during birth. am continue doind pelvic floor exercise but hope that it only atemperoary thing and won'r becoming incontient.. as anyone experience this and what did you to help it?

thankyou for your advice good to know that i am not alone.. I have been doing pelvic floor tightening and have had a couple of days with no accidents so hoping it will improve.. seeing a physio who specilaise in this area mary teague also have agap in abdonimal muscles.. i have been told that you can improve the stretgh of the muscle and regain control.. just takes time and exercises and doind them all the time

Hi! I had my third child back in March. The same thing happened to me. I believe it's b/c of the muscles being extremely tired from child birth. I can honestly tell you that by the time 2 weeks had passed it stopped. (That's when I remember it happening... it could have been earlier though). Keep doing your kegel excercises and you tighten up again. Don't worry. I was worried about it as well...

I am on my third pregnancy. But after my first, the worst damage of all, that problem cleared up. After like 3-5 months I was able to hold it better. But after I delivered my second one who added to the tears but didn't need the stitches again (he is 5 months now) I haven't gained that ability again. And a lot of the days I really feel like I won't. It is very hard to say... with my first one I did the kegal exercises when I was able to again. And I have been trying with this one, since I have been able to. They say that should help regain the strength in those muscles. I don't want to give you false hope though because for some no matter what they do they never regain it. I had asked a few moms I knew for advice on that and if they had problems with it and some say years later they still have those problems. But for now I would just say when you are able to start doing Kegal exercises again do them as much as you can and see if you can strengthen those muscles and regain that control again.
