ok i have a ? i had the Mirena (IUD)i put in almost 6 months ago and at first i period would not go away till about a month ago but i have been very moody kinda like when i was pregnant with my son i get mad at my fiancé 4 no reason then i start crying cuz i feel bad 4 getting so mad at him i have been very emotional happy then mad then sad then happy has anyone had this happen to them or has had any like it or just had other problems with it to i need help can anyone help me plz

I have had similar feelings on it. I have been overly emotional such as crying like I did when I was pregnant.....I am irritable too.

I haven't had the mirena because I believe in life from conception. But from what I read about it these are normal mood swings that alot of women get. My friend had one in and had such bad cramping she had to have it taken out. Maybe you could use a non hormonal birth control like a diaphragm. I have one and it works great. It also won't terminate a pregnancy so that's important to me. I van tell you more about the diaphragm if you want. Good luck! Hope you feel better soon

I had the Mirena for about 5 months after my youngest son was born......I had HORRIBLE mood swings, depression, and a lot of cramping....the depression, and mood swings were so bad i had it removed....about a week later I was back to my old self again. I hope this helps you. I am not sure if you have considered having it removed, but sounds like the hormones are not agreeing with you.
