So far, all you hear is: Breastfeed then you'll burn more calories and lose a lot of weight! Bologne!! You burn more calories, but if you eat enough to balance it or over do it...you DON't lose the weight. WHICH WAS WHAT HAPPENED TO ME. ANYWAYS...MY DAUGHTER IS 2.5YRS OLD ... STILL BREASTFEEDING BUT ONLY AT NIGHT. I KNOW, I KNOW, I TRY TO GET HER OFF, BUT THE KID IS ADDICTED: LITERALLY. we have tried to quit and failed repeatedly. OK , The question is: WILL I LOSE THE WEIGHT WHEN I STOP BREASTFEEDING, I EAT PRETTY HEALTHY I EXERCISE AT LEAST 90MIN 5X'S A WEEK, AND STILL NO WEIGHT LOSS. SOMEONE TOLD ME THAT WHEN I STOPPED BREASTFEEDING MY BODY WOULD BE LIKE: OK...."EXTRA FAT STORAGE OFF" ( IT GOES AGAINST EVERYTHING READ: BREASTFEED =LOSE CALORIES, BUT REALLY... IT HASN'T DONE ANYTHING FOR ME) .... ANY MOMS LOSE WEIGHT AFTER BREASTFEEDING?

It all depends how many calories you're eating... how many cals do you eat per day now and how many will you eat when you wean?

I think its great that you are still nursing your 2.5 yr. old :)
As far as weight...I DID lose all of my baby weight, but a lot slower than I had thought. I think that once she is done bfing, I will get rid of those last bits of flab on my hips :) Hoping to at least!

My daughter is 2yrs and still breast feeding too..don't feel bad. The national average is 2.5 years. As far as losing weight. I noticed I had lost alot of weight at first, then started gaining it back when she was around 9mos. I am hoping like you to lose after BF.

I've found (I am nursing my third) that you crave more food when you are nursing but if you learn what foods to eat and watch your calories (the lowest you can go while nursing is 1800 a day)... then you can lose weight faster and easier than a non nursing mom. Then when you get your ideal weight, like I have.... I completely enjoy being able to eat like a man and not gain an ounce! Breastfeeding is awesome!
