Are there safe anti-anxiety meds to take while BF?

I have been dealing with a lot of anxiety lately and go to see a dr about it this week, but wondered if there are any other BF moms out there who take meds for anxiety that are safe during BF. My baby is 5 months old...and I am already on Zoloft (which doesn't seem to work at all), and Synthroid. I don't want anything that can decrease milk supply, as I already seem to have a low supply. (Don't worry, baby REFUSES a bottle, even of breastmilk, so I exclusively BF!!) I just want some suggestions to bring up to the dr later this week!! Thanks!

Have you tried the all natural "Rescue Remedy"? I love it, and it is safe. Midwives use it all the time with their clients.

Hi Christa, I also have anxiety issues and I saw a psychiatrist who specializes in women's health. She said that most antidepressants are okay and benzos like Ativan are also safe, but may make baby a little drowsy. They're more used for acute anxiety and sleep disturbances, but I was told they are perfectly safe for breastfeeding and won't influence the quantity of milk. The amount that gets passed on is extremely small.
