Are you still hungry all the time?

I am ALWAYS hungry! I eat so much (almost as much as when I was pregnant). My son is a big eater. He doubled his birth weight by 2 months and is now about 21 pounds at almost 7 months.

Is it just me? Or are other people eating constantly, too?

i'm not alone :) @Kristina Carle, I dropped about 20 lbs after my son was born (i gained 57 during the pregnancy) and stayed there for about 6 months, even after starting ww again. since then I have lost a couple more pounds but still have 30 pounds to go to get to my pre-pregnancy weight. @Andrea Meadows, I didn't know you needed more calories nursing than pregnant! thanks for that info, makes me feel a lot better!

Oh my gosh, there are some days when it feels like I have eaten nothing at all!! Unfortunatly I haven't lost any baby weight, I think I lost 10 pounds after I had my daughter and that is it. I try and eat healthy stuff, but nothing! Hopefully once I start getting outside more that will change.

oh I totally eat more now breastfeeding than I ever did pregnant or before pregnancy. the best part is I weight less than before pregnancy! I hate to think about changing my eating habits whenever we wean (he is only 8 months now). I am going to have to learn I can't eat so much when not 'feeding for two' haha. speaking of which... I am hungry!

OMG, i am the same way! i eat way more now than when i was pregnant. by breastfeeding, we are burning a ton of calories so it's perfectly normal to be hungry alot. (Andrea, i am nursing TWINS, so i need to double my extra calorie intake. talk about being hungry! i lost ALL of my baby weight in less than two weeks! had my pre pregnancy jeans buttoned and zipped at 10 days post delivery!) i have found that if i snack WHILE nursing, it helps tremendously. almonds are a great nursing snack! :) and drink lots of water and juice. that helps too with the hungry and with your milk supply! happy nursing! (and eating!)

my baby is the same size at the same age! I am very hungry also - so I eat. I do try to run every day so that helps a little. Some days I'm ravenous, other days not so much. Just try to eat healthier things and know that you are doing the best thing for your baby!

oh yes! You only need an extra 200-300 calories a day when you are pregnant - but you need an extra 500 a day when you are breastfeeding :) Make sure to have protein with each meal, it helps you feel more full :)

I did for a while when you breastfeed your baby gets all the goods so alot of the time it'll leave you feelin like you've not eatin all day!! I try to eat healthy meals and healthy filling snacks between meals!! It slows down when they hit the 1 year mark you won't feel as hungry because he won't nurse as long or as much!!
