Breastfeeding and Medications:

The InfantRISK Center is open. It's a place you can call to get information about taking medications during pregnancy and while breastfeeding. Very helpful! Best for Babes encourages you to give the number to your doctor as well.

***EDIT***

Thanks to Renee for sending me the Australian number.

It is called Mother safe (medication safety whilst pregnant or breastfeeding). The number is 1800 647 848.

If you have the number/info for your country feel free to post it or send me a message and I will add it.

News/Articles/Blogs:

Hey Breastfeeding Moms! The mods and I thought it would be nice to have a place to post all of the articles and news you read about breastfeeding. So if you would like to read some breastfeeding news or post stories of your own you can do it here. Let's try to stick to positive breastfeeding news :)

I bought a medical journal called medications and mothers milk. It has just about every medicine ever made in it, the pregnancy risk, the nursing risk, what it does/how it works, and any other pertinent information.. It is a wonderful tool to have around the house!!

Okay, this is not a breastfeeding article, but it is breastfeeding in the local news (my area). Plus, it has my 10 month old and myself in it!!! LOL!

Please forgive my nerves, stuttering and appearance, but we didn't know they were coming until about 30 minutes before they arrived.

I read a fantastic blog "Adventures in Babywearing", and while it's not only about breastfeeding, it has really valuable information. Steph, the writer, has nursed all 4 of her children, and Ivy, her youngest, is still going strong at 2. She's a phenomenal help and inspiration. The blog's URL is: www.adventuresinbabywearing.com. Check it out! I promise it's chock full of great information, wonderful stories, and amazing pictures. Steph has a way with words and photography.
