Oh yes Stephanie they can be VERY epic! We had our fair share of those. Sometimes its easier just to take them to the bath than try to clean up with wipes!

It is normal, my daughter started doing that at 9 weeks. Just beware, when your son does have a bowel movement, it might be EPIC. That has been the case with my daughter's once-a-week bowel movements.

Sorry to ask a question in your post...

But my baby is 8 days old and she poos quite often, at least every 3rd nappy change.

Is this NOT normal?

As long as it is not too hard when he does poop it is normal. My son was only going once every 5 days for about a month. My dr said it was fine.

That is completely normal. BF babies poop as little as once a week. My daughter would only poop once or twice a week from about 6-10 months of age. Don't worry about it. Even your pediatrician will tell you it is normal.

Yes, it can definitely be normal. BF babies can go a week or longer w/o pooping, and really it is just because they have so little waste with breastmilk because it is such a perfect food for them. If baby is straining to poop and/or the poop is hard when it comes out, then they're constipated, but it sounds like your LO is fine!
