I had a bleb too, and my midwife had the BEST info to treat this... Take a cotton ball and put a few drops of olive oil on it and place it over the bleb, use a breast shield in your nursing bra to reduce staining, then apply warmth (hot water bottle etc) and nurse that side first- it was gone in a day. Blebs feel like (excuse the rawness of this...) someone clipped off the tip of your nipple with nail clippers (told ya) this got rid of it quickly for me- if that is what yours is-good luck!

I had this as i was breastfeeding it sounds similar and mine was an infection in the breast called mastitis ya need a course of antibiotics but getting it clear does help. i also had flu like symptoms its not nice to have but it does clear within days

I have had what is called a "bleb" on my nipple a few times before and they can be super painful and very hard to get rid of. There is a lot of information on blebs on the LLL site. The fastest working remedy that I have tried is taking a lecithin supplement. I think I was taking four gel caps every 24 hours. It usually only takes a day or two to clear up.

Sounds like a plugged duct, maybe you just had more than one? I've had a couple of plugs and my breast was always sensitive for a few days following the release of the plug. You can seach the La Leche Leauge website and get the name and number of a leader near you so you can call to ask. =)

You are building up milk in those sore areas.  Is the sore area sort of off to the side, near or in your armpit?  Try pointing the baby's mouth in the direction of the sore area.  In other words, if the pain is up near your armpit, nurse your baby in the football hold.  If it is closer to your cleavage, try the crossover hold.  Usually when i get that kind of pain, just one feeding in these alternate positions will alleviate the pain.

Make sure the baby is really latched well.  My lactation specialist really shocked me by showing me a good latch -- she literally jambed my baby onto my boob and held him there quite firmly.  Seemed extreme at first, but my pain subsided THAT DAY.  Nipple pain is the same.  She said the best thing for that is to air dry breast milk onto the nipples, and to avoid bras and tight shirts... go topless if you can for a day!  Also, I found a product that is vastly superior to the lanolin, and so much easier to put on.  Its called Earth Mama Angel Baby Nipple Butter (cheesy name) and you can get it at Whole Foods.  Its expensive but worth every penny.  Plus, I used it as lip balm, diaper ointment, whatever...

Good luck!

could be mastitis or breast infection. do you have flu like symprtoms or fever?? if so call dr asap b/c mastitis...not big deal but needs treatment. if not, probably recommend a call also. keep feeding as well as you can or pump if too painful... will help clear infection and keep up your supply and safe for baby. g/l I had mastitis w/ two older kids but so far (knock wood) not w/ 3rd! its no fun though :( sorry choppy but typing one handed!! lol
