I am interested in pumping enough breast milk so my SIL can supplement my nephew. She nursed him exclusively for six months and then she dried up. How would you suggest I do it or has anyone ever done it? My pumping schedule is like this:

On days I work I pump after the morning feeding and then every four hours at work. If I'm up for a couple of hours after her last feeding before bed, I pump. When I'm off I pump after the morning feeding and again, if I'm up for a couple hours after her last feeding. Could I just add a couple of pumping sessions, perhaps. Any advice is appreciated!

If you pump while your baby is feeding you will generally get more milk out, and it's also adding an extra pumping session. At first it can be difficult to manage baby and the pump at the same time, but I did it and I got a TON of milk. (it was in February, and we're still using that milk up!)

It is WONDERFUL what you are doing for your SIL!!

One thing you could do is if you have the time at work, you could pump every 2 hours, which will build up your supply more and more, it might take a week or so, but you will definatly make more milk.

Our bodies can make as milk as 'needed' even if you had triplets, your body will make enough for all three, you just need to feed/pump more often!

Good luck, and I hope that this helps!
